Finance Manager

Falmouth Harbour is a vibrant, valuable harbour for the UK, with a thriving marine cluster, but also becoming a focus for blue growth around new marine and environmental technologies as a key part of Cornwall’s low-carbon future.  We have world-leading national waters sports facilities accessing one of the best global sailing and water sports environments, and work to support our thriving coastal community.

As our Finance Manager, you will play an important role in making sure our organisation runs smoothly.  You will be making sure we pay our suppliers on time, keep accurate records, submit monthly payroll correctly and on time, reconcile and manage revenue from over 2500 customers, manage finance software and you will oversee our banking and purchases.

The starting salary will be dependent upon experience and qualifications.

Work Experience

We do offer work experience placements for university, college and secondary school students interested in developing a career in the marine sector within an area relevant to our activities. We have limited resources so to ensure you get the most out of your work experience placement we select candidates based on their areas interest and what we think we can offer in this respect.

In order to learn more about you to ensure that we can offer you a suitable placement we ask for a letter / email from you along with your CV applying for the work experience placement. The sort of things we would like to see addressed are as follows:

  • Why you wish to complete your work experience at Falmouth Harbour  in particular including what you think you would gain from a placement with us;
  • What your current interests and goals are both personally and career wise;
  • What you feel you can bring to Falmouth Harbour.
