It is empowered to act only as prescribed in its Acts and Orders and any changes in its constitution requires an amendment to its statutory powers through a Harbour Revision Order.
The last change to the Boards constitution was effected by the Falmouth Harbour Revision (Constitution) Order 2004.
Through its Acts and Orders has the power to levy dues on vessels using the Harbour. It publishes charges annually. See a copy of the current harbour dues and charges.
It has the power to make Bye-Laws to regulate the use of the Harbour. To see a copy of the current Bye-Laws click here.
It has recently been granted the power to make Harbour Directions in accordance with the Marine Navigation Act 2013. See a copy of the Harbour Directions (Designation of Harbour Authorities) Order 2015 or a list of harbour directions in force.
As a harbour authority, it is subject to a wide range of legislation related to marine safety and protection of the Environment.
