Vacancy for Seasonal Patrol Officer
Falmouth Harbour Commissioners manage a Trust Port, with statutory responsibility for navigation and conservancy of approximately 16 square miles of harbour area. A vacancy has arisen for the position of Seasonal Patrol Officer.
The successful candidate will be expected to carry out harbour patrols, clearances and vessel escorts and to report suspected offences. The Seasonal Patrol Officer will be responsible for promoting safety within the harbour as well as for assisting with investigations into incidents or breaches of regulation.
The position requires the ability to liaise with partner agencies and other authorities as well as dealing with members of the public in a firm and professional manner.
The post is required from 1st May through to 30th September 2018.
- Minimum powerboat level 2. (Advanced Powerboat or Yacht Master (power) or higher is desirable).
- The applicant should be able to demonstrate an ability to interface with the public in a positive manner including the ability to handle confrontational situations.
- The hours will be flexible to take into account events and harbour operations but will include some evenings, weekends and bank holidays. The hours will be a minimum of 32 hours per week.
- £7.98 per hour
